加拿大全國殘疾藝術家創意中心 (National accessArts) Joseph Chung Creative Centre 命名儀式

早前，加拿大中文電台台長陳家燕及新聞部獲邀參加National accessArts命名儀式，見證全國最大的Natioanl accessArts中心的重要時刻。

Earlier, Fairchild Radio FM94.7 station manager Terry Chan and senior news editor Brian Wong attended the naming ceremony of the Joseph Chung Centre for Creativity in person, joining in to witness this important milestone for the country’s largest accessArts centre.

Dr. Peter Chung 與 Stephanie Chung慷慨捐贈，將National accessArts中心「殘疾與藝術－重新定義」資本籌款計劃推進超過總目標之75%。此捐贈為北美殘疾藝術領域最大單筆慈善貢獻，紀念Chungs夫婦已故愛子Joseph Chung先生，他曾與自閉症及癲癇長期奮戰，是卡加利一次重大慈善捐贈的里程碑。

關於這份意義非凡的禮物將帶來的影響，Chung接受新聞報高級編輯黃慧聰訪問時表示：「正如你們所知，我的兒子已經不在(人世)。但是，如果這個地方能被許多像我兒子Joseph一樣的人使用，我感到非常榮幸，能夠親眼看到他們參與其中，並進行他們的表演，無論是音樂、藝術還是其他形式的演出。如果他們能享受這個空間，我會感到無與倫比。」

"As you know, my son's not here any longer. But, this place being used by many other people who are like my son, Joseph, is very privileged for me to really see them participate and then do their performances, whether it's music or arts or performances, and so that would bring me a huge joy if I have them enjoy this space."

「在我看來，上帝創造人人平等。每個人都有不同的獨特之處和才能，僅僅因為某人與你略有不同，或者不如你聰明，並不意味著你(殘疾人)就比其他人低人一等。我希望透過這個作品清晰地傳達這個信息，而這正是我希望透過它看到的。」

"To me, God created everybody equal. Everybody has a different uniqueness and talents, and just because a person is a little different than you or less smart than you doesn't mean you're (disabled people) lesser than others. And I want that message to be very clear through this neck, and that's basically what I like to see through this.

National accessArts Centre 的新址位於西北West Hilhurst區Brownsea Drive 2140號，在2027年建成後將會成為全球首座無障礙藝術校園核心，取代現有位於東南Fairmount Dr. 8038號的會址。Joseph Chung Creative Centre將為殘疾藝術家提供專業表演、創作及培訓空間。
